World Pea Shooting Championships

Description
It all started in 1971 when the residents of Witcham were looking to raise funds for their Village Hall.  Headmaster John Tyson, thought of a way to harness his pupil's penchant for pea-shooting.

A pea-shooting challenge was organised during the Village Fair and the event has been held ever since.  It has grown into the World Pea-Shooting Championships and attracts competitors from the USA, Europe and New Zealand as they try to hit the bulls eye with a pea.

Apparently its all about selecting the right pea!
