Description
Stukeley Meadows Local Nature Reserve is a 12 acre gem set just outside the Huntingdon ring road.  It is managed for a variety of habitats including short and long grassland, bramble thicket and new plantations.  Small paths meander through the reserve and short grass clearings are cut into the long grass so that visitors have lots of nooks and crannies to explore.
You can follow the paths through the bramble thicket and find butterflies, song thrushes and other wildlife.  Those who explore the edge between the short and long grass can hear the bush crickets and grasshoppers churrip.

Barrack Brook is a watery wildlife delight that flows through the 12-acre Stukeley Meadows local nature reserve, Huntingdon.  Because the brook appears to be no more than a concrete channel for draining flood water away from the Stukeley Meadows estate, its delights are not immediately apparent.

If your lucky you may be able to spot stickleback fish darting in and out of the watercress lined edge. Smaller creatures include snails, freshwater shrimp and even the occasional water scorpion!  It doesn’t end there, as above the surface you may see kingfishers hoping for a stickleback lunch.

The Rangers also organise Family Rambles which take you on a journey through the reserve.
