Description
The Stained Glass Museum Ely provides a unique insight into the history of stained glass, an art-form that has been practised in Britain for at least thirteen hundred years.

The Stained Glass Museum Trust was set up in the 1970s to rescue and preserve stained glass and now houses a national collection of British stained glass. An exhibition of the finest pieces gives visitors a chance to appreciate its beauty and history.

The museum is unique in this country and a visit to the Museum will last approximately 40 minutes.   Children can design patterns with glass on a light box; there are trails and activity sheets

Over 100 beautiful stained glass windows from 1200AD to present are contained within its walls.  The collection includes religious and secular work from Britain and abroad.

The Museum also hosts lectures, exhibitions and study weekends for those wishing to find out more about this ancient craft.
