Description
At Leighton Buzzard Railway you can take a journey into the world of English light railway and explore the Guntry terminus.   Experience sharp curves, steep gradients and level crossings and take the 70 minute round trip from Page's Park to Stonehenge Works.

Leighton Buzzard Railw operate what they claim is 'probably the only substantial survivor of the large number of 2 foot (610mm) gauge light railways built in Britain for industrial use'.   The Railway was used to carry sand when it opened in 1919 and it has operated a passenger steam train service 1968.  The Railway now has an Accredited Museum designation and most of the railway and the narrow-gauge stock is covered by the accreditation.

Possibly one of the largest and important collections of its type, the Railway today is being managed and restored by a group of Volunteers.  All children taking the round trip from Page's Park receive a free Rail Trail activity and information pack.

SPECIAL EVENTS :  A number of events are held throughout the year where you can take a special ride on the trains.   There is a Halloween Special on 29th October in 2006 and don't forget the Christmas Santa and Mince Pie Specials. 

OPENING TIMES :  March to October Sundays and Bank holidays 10.40am to 4.30pm.  Some saturdays and sundays in December and throughout the year.
