Description
Houghton Mill is a working watermill on an island in the Great Ouse since AD 974 and you can discover how flour is made at this National Trust property.  In its heyday it ran 10 stones from three water mills.

Have a go at turning the minature millstones and pull on a rope to lift bags of flour.  The flour is for sale and there are hands-on activities and children's quiz and trail.

Houghton Mill Opening Days : April & October - Saturday and Sundays only;   May to September - Saturday to Wednesday only.   Open to groups at other times, but you must pre-book.
