Guides, Brownies & RainbowsBeing a Rainbow, Brownie or Guide is lots of fun and a great way to make friends. You can get involved in an enormous range of exciting activities from outdoor challenges (climbing, abseiling, canoeing) to learning new skills (first aid, circus performing, toy making) and much more.Rainbows caters for girls between the ages of 5 and 7 years Brownies is for girls between the ages of 7 and 11 years Guides is aimed at girls between 11 and 17 years of age. All Girl Guide activities are designed to instill character, social skills, personal fitness, and leadership in girls through a structured program of activities. Most of these activities are conducted on the unit level. Girl Guides can partake in a variety of programmes from outdoor challenges like climbing and canoeing to skills such as first aid. Guiding aims at giving girls new opportunities like international travel, camping, community service projects, and trying new activities. These activities are designed to teach girls to contribute to society, develop spiritually, encourage teamwork, gain pride in achievement, and to acquire self-respect and leadership The Guide movement believes that an all-female association offers girls and young women the best opportunity for personal and social development. The Guide Association , which includes Cambridgeshire Guides, Brownies and Rainbows, has a policy of not listing contact details for local groups.
