Description
Godmanchester Pits were created when excavated to provide material for the A14 bypass and now provides a haven for wildlife and over 180 species of birds have been seen here.  Nearby excavations have found part of the original roman town Baths and buildings. 

The 100 hectare site is now a nature conservation area which effectively complements the old field patterns and pollarded willows of the surrounding area.
