Description
Fowlmere Nature Reserve is managed by th RSPB and set in 86 acres.  Fowlmere's reedbeds and pools are fed by natural chalk springs and a chalk stream runs through the reserve. Special birds, include kingfishers and water rails, breeding sedge, reed and grasshopper warblers and a roost of corn buntings.

The reserve is a wildlife oasis, rich in dragonflies, butterflies, orchids, bird life, and even deer and badgers. You will enjoy exploring woodland, wetland and meadow habitats, all within easy walking distance of the reserve entrance.  

The nature trail is approximately 1.5 miles/2.4 km, part of which is accessible by wheelchair/pushchair and there are 3 hides, 1 of which is accessible by wheelchair.
