Cambridge Children’s Festival is a week of schools based activity that culminates in a Free Family Fun Day on Cambridge's Jesus Green.
Activities available in the 2006 programme included Theatre, Dance Workshops, Drama Workshops, Museum visits, Arts & Craft and much more. These activities are only available to schools within the Cambridge boundary.
The Cambridge Children’s Festival Family Fun Day is a FREE Family Entertainment Day featuring activities, workshops and laughter which takes place on Jesus Green in Cambridge on the Saturday in June between 12pm and 5pm. As well as being a whole lot of FREE fun, it is also an opportunity to admire the work produced by local school children who took part in the Children’s Festival during the preceding five days of local schools based activity.
Top acts in the PERFORMANCE MARQUEE in 2006 included:
Tree Top Tales - by Elizabeth Fost Enter into a fascinating forest of tall trees and beautiful birds and meet 'Tree Yakka' as he starts his first day looking after one of the most extraordinary trees in the forest. Forty-five minutes of puppets, music and laughs, performed by ‘Playdays’ presenter Elizabeth Fost.
Obelon Arts - shared arts school project
Mike and Caroline (aka Obelon Arts) will be spending the week at school producing a short piece of theatre with two classes, here’s your chance to see their debut performance.
Tongesayi Gumbo & KHULA Dance
Performance by Zimbabwean dance group featuring children who took part in their school activities throughout the week.

The STORYTELLING AREA is a place for kids to enjoy the storytelling of Festival favourite John Row and a host of his storyteller friends.
The FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT MARQUEE is also host to workshops and in 2006 there were lots of activities around Jesus Green inlcuding:
Inside Out Theatre Company's fabulous assault course with a bombardment of buffoonery and slatstick capers.
