Description
Brampton Wood is the second largest ancient woodland in Cambridgeshire and is estimated to be at least 900 years old. Records can be found in the Doomsday Book when pigs used to feed on the acorns!   Today there is plenty of wildlife that occupies the wood including dormice and five colonies of black hairstreak butterflies, to name a few.

Brampton Wood is managed by the Wildlife Trust and there are many trails and paths through the wood along which you can go jogging or walking.

There are a number of banks and ditches within Brampton Wood, some are thought to be part of a prehistoric field drainage system.
